The department of Engineering Sciences was established in the year 2008 to cater the needs of the First Year Engineering teaching - learning process. The sanctioned intake of First Year is 300 including Computer, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

Students of all discipline of engineering need understanding of subjects of basic sciences and engineering. Therefore, the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer and Electronics engineering are included by the University in the First Year Engineering curriculum. The department has well equipped laboratories for the practical work in Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, Graphics and Computer.

In the department efforts are made to improve the "learning skills" of the students and they are encouraged to develop the curiosity, habit of hard work, punctuality, sincerity, creative thinking and self-learning. To achieve this goal, the department has well experienced proficient, enthusiastic, qualified and committed faculty members.


Prominent Features of Department:

  • Hexagon shaped SMART classroom for better interaction between students and teacher with SMART board and LCD projectors.
  • Individual E-mail IDs are provided to students where they receive all important notice, circular and teaching material through Google Apps.
  • Google Apps is used for sharing teaching material with students such as notes, question paper, presentations, videos, etc.
  • An effective Guardian Faculty Member (GFM) scheme is implemented. For a batch of 20 students, one teacher acts as a friend, guardian, mentor and counselor to identify student’s problems and guide them.
  • If required, counseling sessions for needy students at individual level are organized through professional counselor appointed at institute level
  • Continual interaction with parents regarding the progress of their ward, through SMS facility, Phone calls and planned Parent-Teacher meetings
  • Remedial lectures are arranged for the students who lag behind in academics
